Recent Projects

Just to help give an idea of the array of services I am able to provide, I will do my best to keep a log of recent significant activity here.

I will keep the specific client information private unless requested.

WHMCS - Working with a client I have developed an SSL API module for WHMCS.

Custom Site Development Touch Ups - A client who has had a custom site developed needed some extensions they hadn't originally known they had a need for. I was able to get them a minimum level of compliance overnight, and we will be working on a more integrated solution in time to come.

CubeCart Upgrades - A client has been running some very old copies of CubeCart 3 with many modules and customizations. We have gone through two sites at this point, importing the old database, upgrading their templates to CubeCart 4 specific nuances, and installing newer versions of existing modules, all with (as far as I am aware) no data loss and minimal (read: minutes) service interruption.

Large Scale Custom Development - A client came to me in need of a developer to work with them and other programmers to help speed up their development timeline. At the time of writing this, Phase 1 has publicly launched, and Phase 2 is underway. This project has given me excellent insight as to what sort of practices work, and which ones don't, when working in groups. The project also requires a higher level of data and task tracking, as well as interim quality assurance testing than is typical, so I've gotten to discover (and rediscover) some old and new favorite software packages.

ZapX - I had an itch to scratch. I had a quite short, quite useless (to me) domain that I wanted to do something with, and thus ZapX was born. I developed a custom graphing module for it, as well as packed it with features. If you already have a favorite site for URL shortening, be sure to look at the ZapX feature set, maybe you will find a new favorite.

Dropshipping Product Feeds - A client of mine was having some trouble with his feed loaders which imported stock levels from his drop shipper into his CubeCart installation, and with a bit of work, we were able to get things running the way they should be.

CubeCart Upgrades - A client with a very popular site among their market needed to get some of the new features available within CubeCart 4 into their system. I performed the upgrade over the course of roughly a week, first doing a practice run, upgrading the templates and such, then finally re-implementing the changes during the final upgrade. Downtime was measurable in mere minutes.

Custom Site Development - This was a very interesting project. The client came to me with a general set of goals, and we worked it out to a formal specification. From there, we built two sites based on the specification, each handling roughly half of the equation. Why? Because there is question of how tightly the two sides of the project can be tied together. In this market, there is a governmental entity that oversees the businesses who operate in it, and they are generally quick to tell you when you are doing something wrong... however... they don't like answering questions about how to do it right. So I made a plan to bring all the functionality I could between the sites, but still maintain a degree of separation to ensure we didn't cross the line... where ever that line happens to be.

Website Refresh - One of my oldest (in terms of how long I've dealt with them, not how old they are, hah) clients decided they agreed with me that it was time to do a refresh on their website. Normally, this would be a small task, but we were upgrading both their design, and their shopping cart software. Importing over 100,000 products with more than 500 categories into a database will bring out the weaknesses in almost any software. I was able to resolve all performance issues, as well as fix a few other bugs that cropped up from the software packages I elected to work with. The client is very happy with their new site, as am I.

Property Management Website - I got a referral from the designer I work with of a client who ran into some trouble with their current project. I'm still not sure of the specifics, but for whatever reason, they needed a new developer. I was able to take them from essentially nothing but a design, to a full working site, in about a week, utilizing the proper mix of open source software and my own integration skills.
